Privacy Policy

Mix is a photo editor and collage maker for iPhone, made by MHB Software, LLC. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: Mix sends almost nothing off your phone.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in Mix is stored on your iPhone: your photos, your collages and edits, and your saved projects. Mix uploads none of it to us or to anyone else. We run no server that stores your content and have no way to view your projects.

What leaves your device

Mix sends very little, and nothing that identifies you. The only thing it sends us is anonymous usage counts; the next section explains what they contain and how to turn them off. Everything else goes to services you can name: searching Unsplash sends the words you type straight to Unsplash, Mix's AI features can send your picture to Apple, naming the place a photo was taken sends its location to Apple Maps, and buying a subscription goes through the App Store, like any purchase on your iPhone. That is the whole list: nothing else leaves your phone, and none of it ever comes to us.

Anonymous usage analytics

Mix counts how it gets used: which tools get used, how mixes get made and exported, whether a subscription was started, restored or failed, and where the app fails. Most of all we want to know when Mix breaks, so we can fix it fast. The counts never include your photos, your words, any payment details, or anything that identifies you; your device reports under a random code that is not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID. The counts arrive with an approximate location worked out from your internet connection, at the level of a city, never from GPS. An analytics service collects and charts these counts for us. You can turn analytics off any time in Mix under About, then Analytics, and you can email us to have your device's counts deleted.

AI features

Mix has features that use AI to help with your picture; suggesting captions is one. Apple Intelligence does the work, sometimes on your device and sometimes through Apple's Private Cloud Compute; the cloud receives your picture and details like when and where it was taken, uses them only to produce the result, and keeps nothing. Apple can't read what it handles, and neither can we; Apple explains the design in Apple Intelligence & Privacy. To name the place a photo was taken, Mix may also look up its location with Apple Maps. These features work only when you use them: Mix never sends your pictures anywhere in the background, and when the work happens on your device, nothing leaves it at all.

Photos and camera

Mix asks permission to use your camera and photo library so you can bring pictures into your creations and save your finished work back to Photos. Everything Mix does to your pictures happens on your device. You can change these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Subscriptions

Mix subscriptions are bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your card, your Apple Account, or your name. The only thing Mix learns is whether a subscription is active, and that stays on your device.

What we don't collect

To be clear about what Mix does not do:

• No accounts, sign-ins, names, emails, or passwords.
• No advertising and no ad trackers.
• No selling or sharing of personal information.
• No tracking of you across other apps or websites.

Children's privacy

Mix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Mix has no accounts, and the usage counts described above identify no one, so there is nothing for a child to submit to us. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will address it.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you rights over personal information a business collects about you, including the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. Mix collects no information that identifies you personally: analytics report under a random code we cannot tie to a name, and Mix does not sell or share personal information. You can opt out of analytics with the switch in the app, and you can ask us to delete your device's analytics data at the address below.

Data security

Mix runs no server of its own and keeps your content on your device, so the strongest protection for your creations is the security of your own iPhone. Everything Mix does send travels over encrypted connections.

Changes to this policy

As Mix grows, we may add features that change how information is handled. When we make a meaningful change to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. And if a feature ever starts sending a new kind of data, or sending it somewhere new, we will describe that here before the feature reaches you.
