No accounts, no ads, no servers of its own. ## What Mix does Mix turns the photos on your phone into whatever you have in mind: a post, a story, a message to a friend, a meme, a lock screen, a watch face, a profile picture, a birthday card, an invitation, a YouTube thumbnail, a listing, a print for the wall. Keep it as is or customize it with Mix's rich collage editor. - **Pops:** A Pop is a special kind of mix. Pick one photo and Mix cuts out the subject and tucks a caption behind it, the way your lock screen puts the clock behind you. Share photos into Mix from other apps. ## Engineered for iOS 27 Mix is built on the newest Apple Vision technology in iOS 27, runs natively on Apple Intelligence, and is designed in Liquid Glass from the ground up. - **Composition Engine:** Mix's own. It reads each photo in depth with Apple's Vision APIs, then does the quiet work a designer would, weighing the layout, the placement and the crop of every photo against all the others, to give you a thoughtful starting point for a new collage. Often that is the one you keep. When you want something more your own, the collage editor gets you exactly there. - **Precision cutting:** Mix uses the new segmentation model in iOS 27 to cut out anything. With the latest Vision APIs, every cutout, including the subject of a Pop, can be refined with precision. Tap or draw over something to add it or take it away, and zoom in to catch the smallest details. - **Caption suggestions:** Apple Intelligence suggests captions that fit your photo and the place it was taken, all on your iPhone or through Apple's Private Cloud Compute. - **Image Playground:** Image Playground is built right into Mix. When a search in stickers or the Mix Library comes up empty, Apple Intelligence on your iPhone writes a prompt from your search and Image Playground makes it. A sticker comes out in the sticker style you picked, and a picture is ready to be a background, a layer or a spot in a collage. - **iOS stickers, Memoji and Genmoji:** The stickers, Memoji and Genmoji already on your iPhone come right into any mix. ## Private by design Mix has no accounts, no ads, no ad trackers and no servers of its own. Your photos and mixes live on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, nowhere else. Its AI runs only on Apple Intelligence on your iPhone and Apple's Private Cloud Compute. ## Availability Mix is on the App Store for iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Some features need iOS 27 or an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence. One subscription includes everything, AI features too and never metered, with a free trial on the yearly plan. There are no ads and no watermarks. ## The maker Mix is made by one person, Sam Khavari, who has done every job it takes. In more than 25 years at Snap, VMware, Microsoft and startups, he has written the code, owned the product and run the engineering for software used by hundreds of millions of people and Fortune 500 companies. At Snap, he led engineering for Snapchat's Memories and its trillions of photos. "Mix is only getting started," Khavari says. "There's so much room to innovate: more your photos can become, less effort to get there, and results that look like a pro made them.
